Success stories Unialco S/A
An IT estate that follows the industrial plant.
Sugar and ethanol mill in Guararapes, inland São Paulo, operating since 1980, with crushing capacity that reached 10,500 tonnes a day. It has used Tz0 since 2007, with around 560 agents spread between the industrial and the administrative areas.
The starting point
Equipment in a distant sector costs travel.
Fernando Ribeiro Souza, senior support analyst, describes the problem of supporting an estate that follows the plant: the machine is almost never near the person who has to fix it, and a simple task turns into a journey.
Because our estate has equipment spread across distant sectors within the company grounds, we often ran into travel problems — both because the incident took longer to handle and because of the time and resources spent sending a professional out to do simple tasks.

The decision
Four needs, one tool.
Unialco was looking for automated inventory, software licence control, a security policy that is actually enforced, and remote support. It chose to solve all four with a single tool rather than add up products that do not talk to each other.
Compared with other tools we found Tz0 very advantageous; it meets our expectations very well, especially on the infrastructure side.

What runs there
One agent, four modules.
The roughly 560 agents cover four fronts at once — surveying the estate, supporting users at a distance, enforcing the security policy and metering software usage. It is the same installation in all four.
What changed
The exception that closes itself.
The most useful detail in this case is not the block, it is the exception. The removable-media rule applies to the whole estate, but whoever needs to pull off the day truck routes opens the port for a set period — and it closes again on its own, without depending on somebody remembering to put the rule back.
I need to plug this USB in here to download some data about today truck routes; I can do that for a period and set it so that a few minutes later it turns the rule back on.

One of the things we find very advantageous is the flexibility of the product: besides the blocks and access levels, you can register exceptions for a specific user situation.

Tickets opened by email, answered within hours. That is how it went during a build migration: the difficulty came up, support got in touch the same day and solved it without the team having to stop work to follow along.
Why they renew
The stated reason is the remote connection.
Asked about the annual renewal, Fernando does not mention price or a new feature. He mentions remote access — and, alongside it, the fact that the company network is not left exposed while support is happening.
One of the reasons we renew the product every year is the security its remote connection offers.
